Time is an essence
Today is storytelling time. Time, is a big word, this post will motivate me to not daydream at home... and hopefully motivate everyone too.. because today morning.. still sleeping at 1030, while flipping around the bed, i couldn't help but think about my o'levels.. hahaha, its still really really far away isn't it? But if i don't do something now, the nearer it gets, the more i'll panic. I'd probably get 54 for my o's, but i'm still worrying badly because up till now i haven't really satisfied my mum, and i definitely don't want to disappoint her again. So i jumped up freshened up and ran to my room, only to find myself lazing on my bed again, i really want to start on homework, its impossible.
Fiana called me 4 times this morning, to inform me about details about the shooting this saturday, they're coming to my house to do shooting, oh my. And that morning i have to go to marina south arcade or something to do another scene, and i have to dress cool. I don't have cool clothing. haha. And last night ying rou called me to ask me to go down on friday to do shooting for another short film, and the previous night the director kenny briefed me on details about the shooting on wednesday. I'm certainly having a busy week! Well thankfully yuan hong told me last night i'd be unable to join their group in the shooting of the advertisement as i'm already involved in the dragon kiln. I do not know if they're still doing tau sar pia, but they've told me they want a change in idea, which is a real pity because i think tau sar pia is a great idea. Its really too bad wei zhou didn't have enough action, all he had was talk.. i've nothing more to say about him, we've become sick and tired of getting really excited about some brilliant ideas he brings up, we do them enthusiastically and he seems to just forget anything. My worst fears have come true, i knew tau sar pia would never come out from the start. That was why in the beginning when me and wei zhou were so excited i kept reminding him he had to be serious about it and that i really wanted an award, i thought i could finally trust him then.. well i though wrong then..
So i tried really hard to sit at my table but while reading a chinese passage i heard my brother playing pool downstairs, i haven't seen him play pool since the early days when we just bought the table. And i rushed down after the passage, begging him for a game, but he declined. Oh you guys have no idea how much i begged him for a game, i almost went on my knees trying to ask for one. And when he finally did, it was only one unsatisfactory game. Sigh, i remember when we just bought the table we would spend the whole night playing.. I guess i was still lousy then, after i started taking pool seriously i spent most of my time playing alone. Well i can't blame him too, no one likes to lose. But even so, he should just play for fun, nothing is at stake, he's got nothing to lose.. only TIME. Unlike wei hong, who always comes up to me to talk about pool and asks me out quite a lot, wanting me to teach him. Of course, if you ask me it seems pretty ironic, remembering the times when i was still a small boy, barely the height of the pool table, i saw the big guys, wei hong and the others playing pool, and i was always excluded, its a big boys game, besides, i'm not tall enough. Haha, and it wasn't until last year when i went overseas with him that he really learnt a lot from me, in fact, he even told pei en, who is like, the biggest brother in my eyes, the philospher, i'm awestruck everytime he speaks, and its quite awkward, sitting opposite him in lunch, and he asks me, ''hey, teach me how to play pool one day!'' haha, of course, i wish he'd talk to me about a much civilised subject rather than pool, like he once asked me about lotr, he too, is a fan, oh well.
Anyway, i'll begin my story on time, its taken from some book from my church camp, and some from books i read, so hopefully after everyone reads it they'd start studying at get 6 points for their o's. Well, time is really important, nobody can ask for more or throw away some.. but we can choose to use it conciously or unconciously, with conciousness, we can definitely produce something fruitful. I mean, we should definitely spend our time wisely, knowing what to do when. Urgent things like studying and paying bills, to enjoyable things like surfing and chatting, which unknowingly takes up much of our time.. ''we have to do something to kill time!'' to the people to say this often, time is immortal, but our life isn't, we shouldn't let small amounts of time slip away from our hands. Instead of worrying over the coming exams, why not spend time studying for it? I guess its just my biggest weakness.. time slips away from me all the time, every second goes by while i laze on the sofa, till then, its night time and i'm still lying on the sofa watching the television! Well wouldn't it be better if i had spent that amount of time learning something? For example reading a book? An average student would have to read a passage 3 times to understand a passage, but someone who has a strong command of the language would need just once. Reading storybooks or newspapers might seem like they help little, but they'll definitely benefit you in the long run instead of lazing in front of the tv i guess..
We think that time is necessary for everything we have to do or understand. Therefore time becomes a burden, it becomes a barrier to actual perception, it prevents us from seeing the truth of something immediately because we think we must take time over it.
I've once been told a story of the jellyfish and the salmon by pf, she told me when a salmon is born, it swims from the rivers to the oceans. It is at the oceans where they spend most of their adult lives. But it is strange, something not even scientists understands, why, during a point of their adult life, they start swimming back to where they once came from, that is thousands of miles away, up the river to where they were born. according to uncle james, he once saw a documentary on one determined salmon that even swam through a maze of pipes and nudged open a gate to re-enter the hatchery where it was born, there is when they lay eggs and die.
Then there's the jelly fish, jellyfish are born in the ocean and they die there too, they have limited movement but never use their ability to go anywhere, they're moved along primarily by the wind and waves and tides, they drift about stinging and surviving. That's their life, drifting about aimlessly.
Now are you more of a jellyfish or a salmon? Well, the salmon spends a whole lot of their lives with a mission, that is to go to the ocean, and to return to the rivers, while the jellyfish wanders about aimlessly, though they're carefree.. Well that's the story about time management, whether we're just doing nothing, staring at nothing, dreaming of good results, or working hard to get it.. now i'll constantly read this post to motivate me.. haha.. Now i've probably wasted 5 mins of your time, probably more if you're grasp of the language isn't good, haha, so read a book right now!
Time, is an essence.
Oh yes, i forgot to mention how cool kenny is.. haha.
Kenny: Hey bro, kenny here. So confirm call time 10:30am at dragon kiln?
Me: Yes.. At ten thirty
Kenny: Roger tat boss. Cya guys tomolo.

Do they call girls sis? lol.. Anyway.. I'd love to have another brother.. haha, having my brother now is like being a single child =( he doesn't play with me =((..
