Chapter 32- A Tribute to Luther Vandross

After listening to this song for the 100th time, i've decided to play it on the blog for 4 days, for it isn't good enough to surpass John Denver's perhaps love. It will then be followed by another 4 days of "First of May" by the Bee Gees.

Luther Vandross- Dance with my father
I only got to know Luther Vandross from the Oprah Windfrey show and at that time, he suffered a stroke. The album Dance with my Father was his last album. The song Dance with my father was released in memory of his father. His soulful vocals are to die for, so sweet sounding and simply beautiful, of course, this song is a really sad one. When i saw Luther Vandross on Oprah's show, he suffered a stroke and was of bad health. Then a few episodes later, i was shocked to hear that he died.Although he appeared briefly on videotape at the 2004 Grammys to accept his Song of the Year award for Dance with my father, he was otherwise never seen in public again. On the videotape on which Vandross appeared, he sent an emotional message that said: "Whenever I say goodbye it's never for long because I believe in the power of love." Vandross died on July, 1 2005 at John F. Kennedy Medical Center. He was 54. At this time, the cause of death is not known, although hospital spokesman Rob Cavanaugh has said that Vandross never recovered from the 2003 stroke. It was reported that he died peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends. We remember. This song playing now is so touching, it can almost make me cry, about the times of Luther and his father, and his longing to dance with him again.
