Mastering Foosball

Foosball, or more commonly known as table soccer, is probably the hardest game in the whole wide world. I've decided to teach the world the secrets of foosball since its the hardest in the world.. lol, but everyone's so stressed, just relax!! lol, a game of foosball is definitely much better than pool, haha. But honestly honestly, haha, skill is needed to play this game, lol, i even learnt there is World Foosball Championships and they have a whole hall filled with foosball tables, mmmn, i'd love to join this tournament, pity singapore doesn't promote foosball.. haha..


Ok firstly, the basic rules.
I. Tables have around 5-6 Balls, the goals are connected to your own team, so if your opponent scores, the balls goes to your hole, so you have to be the one to make a new start, something like loser rack in pool, haha, first to 10 wins.

II. If a ball goes into the goal legally, it is a point, no matter who hit it.

III. NO SPINNING THE RODS!!!..... haha, everywhere i go, whenever there's a foosball table available, people LOVE to spin the rods, its illegal! Also, it damages the table cause the impact is very huge, the man might be damaged.

So how? How to hit hard without spinning, lol, many muscular men have come to my house and when i told them spinning was illegal, they couldn't actually hit a hard shot! Haha, basically, just have to swing it back and bring it forth really hard, hard, as in, hard, full force, just spin the wrist instead. Actually, when people start playing, everyone's a noob, really, but even noobs progress..
















Tip1 on foosball: Always keep one hand on the keeper...











This star player is the most importantest, people always switch two by two, but the best combination is to have one hand on the keeper all the time, at first it might be hard to adapt, but before long, you'll find your free hand can switch fast enough... Its important because it can save shots, depending on how good your goalkeeping is and how good your reflexes are, moreover, just letting it stay in the middle doesn't mean the balls can get in even if the ball heads right in his direction, because shots might be really powerful that they can knock past him.

The only shots the keeper can't save are long range screamers, these are freak shots that are never meant to be shots, haha. Because these shots come very fast and unexpectedly, it is almost impossible to save unless you're at the right place because all you see is a white blur, even the other team's keeper is capable of these freak shots. Other than that, you should train your keeper to be able to react fast and stay calm, sometimes easy and slow shots end up in the goal because the keeper is too jumpy and the player starts moving the keeper left and right, too fast, when the ball is going slowly, so just relax..






Tip 2: The opening ball is a good chance for a shot. When the ball is put in place is the best chance for shot because everybody is still not ready, but remember, your chances are not high for there's the opponent's midfield, his defence, and his keeper, and remember they are all vulnerable to long range screamers? So Start whacking the ball like crazy when it starts, or wait for the ball to arrive and whack it hard, but keep in mind that your own striker might actually be a hindrance, so for me, whenever a new ball is rolled in, i keep my strikers up so as to allow the midfield to try for shot, it is shown below..












As you can see everybody is kept down while the striker is kept up, enough for the ball to roll pass but not too high in case a chance comes for the striker to score. In fact, i keep my strikers up most of the time so the midfield and the defence can have shots.




Tip 3: My dad's biggest secret. This is my dad's biggest secret, and he taught it to me when i was a noob, and after my mum persuaded him to teach me, haha, now i tell you. Its always a good advantage, especially for strikers, to wait for the keeper to make a clearance, now get your striker to follow the keeper, and when the player pulls back for a shot, at the same time, you swing your player forward, so that if there's any chance that the ball comes to your path, you can deflect it back to the player's goal. That, is really hard to explain, lol. basically, when the opposite player goes for a shot, you swing your players too, so that the motion that is given to your ball can be doubled when you hit it back the opposite direction. This can be shown in soccer. When a player passes you a ball, you're able to hit it higher or further right? Its the same thing, just that i'm unable to explain it well, haha, this is a really good tactic, especially when the opponent's keeper is making the clearance, lol after my dad taught me, i kept scoring on his keeper that he didn't dare to make clearances with his keeper anymore.







Tip 4 and my last tip, i can't go own tipping you guys all night cause i gotta study, haha. Well, its pretty simple, its just a defending tip, when your opponent's striker gets a ball, just use your defender to shadow, one on one, the baller with your closes defender, let me tell you, one of the only ways you can shoot is just by shooting straight, and thus, its really difficult to score, especially when your opponent has a dead ball, and his handling his ball slowly, just shadow him, it'd be almost impossible to score. But that tip doesn't work against me! haha, well my dad didn't develop the ability to pass and score, and for me, i learnt another way to evade the shadows, but its really difficult to master and i myself haven't gotten a hang out of it, its just a simple nod to your fellow striker and that striker must seize the opportunity and whack it in in a milisecond, no delays, but its really difficult to do that because usually for me, i pass but the ball runs away from me, and i lose the ball instead, but passing requires the ability to stop the ball and slow the game down, slowing the game down is the best when your opponent receives opportunities after opportunities to score, he shoots time and time again, but hits the tiang (post) or the keeper, then his heart beats very fast, when you obtain control of the ball, stop it and your opponent wouldnt be able to take it cause he's very hot already, lol, passing is simple, make sure the ball is slow then pass using the sides, pulling or pushing the rod.


That, is 4 of my tips to mastering foosball, i'm sure anybody would be able to master foosball after reading this post... foosball, similarly, like pool, gains respect, haha, i onced challenged my dad to a game and if he lost he'd have to call me dad, he did and he had to call me dad, haha... i don't waanna play pool after exams!
